As a leading aesthetics clinic here in York, we want all our clients to feel happy, comfortable and confident about our treatments, and to be fully informed about every element of our procedures. Today, we’d like to share some information about our lip injections or lip fillers, just one injectable we offer to our York clients.
What are lip fillers?
They’re a way to enhance your lips, specifically their shape, size and symmetry. Our clients use lip filler treatment to boost volume, create definition and achieve a balanced look that harmonises with their facial features.
Why have lip fillers?
As well as being an aesthetic procedure that can enhance your appearance, they’re also a way to boost your confidence and self-esteem. And, if you’re contemplating lip surgery, they can be recommended as an alternative procedure – they may be less expensive, with less risks and downtime involved.
How long do lip injections last?
Incredibly, lip filler treatment can last an impressive 18 months. All you need to do to prolong the results is have a top-up when recommended by our York specialists here at our aesthetics clinic.
Can I reverse my lip fillers?
Yes, providing they’re hyaluronic acid-based. That’s because the dissolving agent used is hyaluronidase, which is an enzyme that works to break down hyaluronic acid. If it’s not possible to dissolve your lip injections, then don’t worry – they will naturally be broken down by the body over time (hence lasting around 18 months).
Are lip fillers just for your lips?
You can also use them to treat lines and wrinkles around the mouth, such as those running nose-to-lips (nasolabial), above the lips (perioral) or mouth-to-chin (marionette).
Are there side effects?
Yes, as with any treatment. In most situations, all that’s experienced is some mild swelling, soreness and bruising, but it does vary from client to client. Even though it’s typically uncommon to experience side effects beyond the mild ones, we’ll go through the full list with you during your consultation at our York aesthetics clinic.
What if my lip filler looks lumpy?
We’d ask you to return to our York clinic to take a look at your lips and see what we can do to help. Bear in mind that although uncommon, it’s not usually serious if this happens.
What should I avoid after treatment?
Heat treatments (spas, saunas), strenuous exercise and UV light are all things to avoid in the early days. Touching the area, make-up and hot foods and drinks should be avoided straight after treatment. We’ll run you through a list during your consultation.
How do I get in touch with you?
